FAQs

Do you travel to other states in Australia?

Unfortunately, we no longer provide installations for locations that require flights; however, our netting suppliers have a list of other companies which also install the same netting as us on their website and you should be able to locate someone more local for you (which would save on added travel costs for flights, car hire etc). You can view their list here at: https://catnets.com.au/pages/installation

It’s important to note that these other companies are not associates of ours and have their own ways of installing Catnets netting, so make sure you ask to see lots of photos before proceeding. Otherwise an alternative option (and often a lot cheaper) is a DIY installation by purchasing everything you need directly from our friends over at at: www.catnets.com.au

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and wish you well on your enclosure journey

Can they be removed if I move?

Yes they can. We also offer a full removal service which involves dismantling the enclosure and covering any small holes left by the fixings. You can view albums of our pull downs and renews on our Facebook page. This is the before photo album for a side enclosure we built: See here and this is the after photo album for the same home: See here . As you can see from our repair work you can’t actually see that there was ever an enclosure there. This is link to another album of ours where we have removed the enclosure and repaired all holes: See here.

Are your enclosures snake and toad proof?

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee our enclosures to be 100% snake or toad proof. However there are ways that we can install an enclosure to have additional snake and toad resistance. Please feel free to request this with your online quote request and we will custom design something for you.

What materials do you use?

Our cat runs are all enclosed using pre-stretched and UV treated 19mmx19mm black cat netting. Our wall netting has an additional stainless steel filament intertwined into each strand of netting for added strength and rigidity. We choose to install with black netting as we have found that white and cream netting is actually more obvious to the naked eye due to its ability to reflect the sun.

Our netting is attached with marine grade stainless steel wires and wire rigging so you can rest assured knowing that you’re not getting galvanised fixtures which will rust out in next to no time.

Our custom designed gates are made from welded and powder coated Australian steel so they won’t be flimsy like gates which are made using corner connectors. Plus all of our gates come with D&D Technologies self-closing hinges and key lockable latches so you know you’re getting the best of the best with us.

Unlike other installers our L-shaped zip entrances are attached using special marine grade clips and are not merely zipped tied on. Unfortunately enclosures made with zip ties don’t last as long in the Australian sun so our stainless steel clips will maintain a longer life for your zip.

How come your installations can take longer than others?

We make sure to take our time when building our enclosures so that you know your fur babies will be safe. We’re not about doing a “rush job” to cut on costs and prefer to make sure everything is done correctly in the first place. We do things differently than other installers to make sure your enclosure can last for as long as possible.  We choose to wet drill when fixing into tiles to prevent breakage. We refuse to use cheap plastic wall plugs and will instead take our time to chemically anchor our fixings when working with masonry. These differences may increase our installation time but your fur babies’ safety is well worth both the time and the love that we will spend.

Can you do on-site consultations to measure and quote?

Unfortunately due to trade changes during Covid we have had to remove the option for onsite consultations at this point in time.

If you can get some photos together of the area you’re looking at enclosing and submit them to us using our free online quote form then we can work on a free quote for you. If you’re not sure on where you would like to enclose feel free to email us lots of photos of different locations and we can take a look and offer suggestions. Please feel free to email us at info@happycatenclosures.com.au

What guarantees do I get?

All of our custom fixed enclosures are covered by guarantees unbeatable in the enclosure market. We include a 12 year netting guarantee for sag & deterioration as well as a 6 year (72 months) workmanship guarantee, that’s the longest workmanship guarantee on the market by 5 years!!!

Our DIY portable enclosures are covered under the Australian Consumer Guarantee.

Do you install metal enclosures?

We can, and have, installed metal enclosures. Metal enclosures are more costly than netted enclosures due to the price of materials and the labour involved to install them but it is certainly something we can do if your budget allows. All window boxes that we install are metal mesh boxes. If you would like to see the quality of our metal mesh enclosures please feel free to visit The Cat Clinic Mt Gravatt, The Cat Clinic Paddington, The Cat Cuddle Café Red Hill or email us at info@happycatenclosures.com.au for photos.

Are your enclosures suitable for households with dogs?

Whether or not one of our custom cat runs will be suited with your furry pups really depends on the individual dogs’ ages and personality. Our netting is not designed to be chewed on and can be damaged if your pet is too rough. If you think your pups are going to be tempted to chew through your cats’ enclosure we can always look at adding on a special dog mesh for added resistance. It is very rare for a dog to chew through our additional dog mesh but on the rare occasion it can happen. If this is the case, or you are certain that this will happen we would suggest installing with metal mesh on the bottom half on the enclosure at least.
