FAQs

Do you travel to other states in Australia?

Please note that we no longer offer installation services for locations that require air travel, as long-distance jobs involving flights and additional Car hire can significantly increase costs. However, our netting supplier, Cat Nets, provides a list of authorized installers on their website, which includes companies that install the same netting products. You can view the list here: https://catnets.com.au/pages/installation.

It is important to understand that these companies are independent and not affiliated with us. Therefore, we recommend requesting extensive photo examples of their previous work before proceeding.

Alternatively, a more affordable option is a DIY installation, as all necessary materials can be purchased directly from Cat Nets at www.catnets.com.au.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We wish you success with your enclosure project.

Can they be removed if I move?

Yes, they can. We also provide a comprehensive removal service, which includes dismantling the enclosure and repairing any small holes left behind by the fixings. You can view photo albums of our pull-downs and renewal projects on our Facebook page.

For example, here is the before photo album of a side enclosure we constructed: See here , and here is the after photo album of the same project: See here . As you can see  As demonstrated by our repair work, the enclosure is virtually invisible after completion.

Additionally, here is a link to another album showcasing our enclosure removal and hole repairs: See here.

Are your enclosures snake and toad proof?

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee our enclosures to be 100% snake or toad proof. However there are ways that we can install an enclosure to have additional snake and toad resistance. Please feel free to request this with your online quote request and we will custom design something for you.

What materials do you use?

Our cat enclosures are constructed using 19mm x 19mm black cat netting that is pre-stretched and UV-treated for durability. To enhance strength and rigidity, the wall netting incorporates an additional stainless steel filament woven into each strand. We select black netting because, unlike white or cream options, which tend to reflect sunlight and become more visible, black netting remains less noticeable to the naked eye and blends better into the environment.

The netting is securely fastened with marine-grade stainless steel wires and rigging, ensuring long-lasting corrosion resistance. This choice of hardware prevents rusting and deterioration that commonly affect galvanized fixtures.

Our custom-designed gates are fabricated from welded, powder-coated Australian steel, providing superior strength compared to gates assembled with corner connectors. Each gate is equipped with D&D Technologies self-closing hinges and key-lockable latches, guaranteeing reliable and secure access.

Additionally, our L-shaped zip entrances are installed using specialized marine-grade clips rather than simple zip ties. This method significantly extends the lifespan of the enclosure, as zip ties tend to degrade quickly under the harsh Australian sun. Our stainless steel clips ensure a longer-lasting, more durable enclosure.

How come your installations can take longer than others?

We carefully construct our enclosures to ensure the safety and well-being of your pets. Unlike other installers who may prioritize speed to reduce costs, we focus on doing the job correctly from the start. Our approach emphasizes durability and quality, using methods such as wet drilling when installing into tiles to prevent damage. Additionally, we avoid inexpensive plastic wall plugs, opting instead for chemical anchors when working with masonry to ensure secure and lasting installations. While these practices may take more time, we believe that the safety of your pets and the longevity of our enclosures are worth every effort and detail we invest.

Can you do on-site consultations to measure and quote?

Due to changes in trade regulations during COVID-19, we are currently unable to offer onsite consultations.

However, you can assist us by providing photos of the area you wish to enclose. Please upload these images through our free online quote form, and we will prepare a complimentary quote for you. If you are unsure about the best location for the enclosure, feel free to send us multiple photos of different areas. Our team will review them and provide recommendations.

You can contact us via email at info@happycatenclosures.com.au.

What guarantees do I get?

All of our custom fixed enclosures come with industry-leading warranties. We offer a 12-year netting guarantee against sagging and deterioration, as well as a 6-year (72-month) workmanship guarantee — the longest in the market by five years.

Our DIY portable enclosures are protected under the Australian Consumer Guarantee.

Do you install metal enclosures?

We can, and have, installed metal enclosures. Metal enclosures are more costly than netted enclosures due to the price of materials and the labour involved to install them but it is certainly something we can do if your budget allows. All window boxes that we install are metal mesh boxes. If you would like to see the quality of our metal mesh enclosures please feel free to visit The Cat Clinic Mt Gravatt, The Cat Clinic Paddington, The Cat Cuddle Café Red Hill or email us at info@happycatenclosures.com.au for photos.

Are your enclosures suitable for households with dogs?

The suitability of our custom cat enclosures for your fur babies depends on their individual ages and personalities. Our netting is not designed to withstand chewing and may be damaged if your pets are too rough. If you believe your dogs might be tempted to chew through the enclosure, we can add a specialized dog-proof mesh for extra durability. While it is uncommon for dogs to chew through our additional mesh, it is still a possibility. In such cases, or if you are confident this may occur, we recommend installing a metal mesh on the lower half of the enclosure for added protection.
